Blue PigmentsCopper Phthalocyanine is lightfast, stable, brilliant blue pigment that was first invented in the 1920’s so has a wealth of application history. The differences in crystal formation, and arrangement of molecules account largely for the variations in shade and physical properties. The Alpha form is the redder shade, and has a smaller primary particle size. The Alpha Phthalocyanine Blues are i.) crystallizing type ii.) non crystallizing type (NC) iii.) non crystallizing / non flocculating types (NC/NF) As the form changes towards the more stable Beta type, the color shade becomes greener. The Beta form yields bright greenish blue shades, with slightly lower tint strength. The product is available as non crystallizing NC and non crystallizing /non flocculating type NC/ NF.
